How TECHIVE collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use this website or register for a cohort.

02What we collect and why
We collect only what we need for the purposes below.

03Who sees your data
We do not sell your personal data. It is seen only by:
- The TECHIVE team. Registrations and applications are visible only to the staff who run selection and the programme.
- Service providers who host this website and deliver our email, under contracts that require them to protect your data: [hosting provider], [email provider], and Google for analytics if you accept analytics cookies.
- Partner banks and employers, only if you tick the separate sharing box on the registration or application form. We then share your name, contact details, education and skills with partner institutions offering placements or jobs. This box is optional and unticked, and saying no has no effect on your registration or application. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
Contact form messages are never shared with third parties.
04Where your data is stored
Our website is hosted in [country of hosting]. Where your data is transferred outside Jordan, we apply the safeguards required by applicable law. [Confirm cross-border transfer requirements with legal counsel]
05How long we keep it
- Registrations of interest: 24 months after the cohort you registered for, then deleted.
- Applications: [period, for example 12 months after the selection decision], then deleted. Participants’ records are kept for [period].
- Contact enquiries: [period] after we close your enquiry.
- You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time.
06How to delete your data
Email hello@techive.org from the address you used, with the subject “Delete my data”. Tell us which form you used. We will confirm and delete your data within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep part of it, in which case we will tell you what and why.
To withdraw permission to share your details with partners, email us with the subject “Stop sharing”. We will stop sharing from that point and ask partners we have already shared with to delete your details.
07Your rights
Under Jordan’s Personal Data Protection Law and other applicable law, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy.
- Correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete your data.
- Stop using your data for a particular purpose.
- Withdraw your consent at any time. This does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
To make a request, email hello@techive.org. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the relevant data protection authority in Jordan.
08Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to make the site work. With your consent, we also use Google Analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site. Analytics does not load until you accept. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer.
09Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted administrative access and two-factor authentication for staff accounts.
10Children
Our programmes are for university students and graduates. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
11Changes to this notice
We may update this notice. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make significant changes, we will tell registered participants by email.
